❓ Right click flag = question mark
How to Play Minesweeper
Left-click any cell to reveal it. Numbers show exactly how many mines are hidden among the 8 surrounding cells. Use logic to figure out which cells are safe and which hide mines. Right-click to plant a flag on a suspected mine. Right-click a flag to turn it into a question mark for uncertain cells.
Clear all safe cells without detonating a single mine to win. Your first click is always safe — mines are placed after you click!
Minesweeper — FAQs
What do the coloured numbers mean?
Each number tells you exactly how many mines are in the 8 adjacent cells. The colours help you distinguish: blue = 1, teal = 2, red = 3, purple = 4, orange = 5, and so on.
Can I lose on the very first click?
No! Mines are placed after your first click, guaranteeing a safe start every single time. You will never detonate a mine on move one.
What's the question mark for?
Right-clicking a flagged cell converts it to ❓. This marks a cell as uncertain — you suspect it might be a mine but aren't sure yet. It doesn't count toward the mine counter and prevents accidental clicks.
How is best time tracked?
Your best winning time for each difficulty is saved in your browser. It persists between sessions so you can always try to beat your record.
